Terms and Conditions

These conditions apply to booking of any function, meeting, conference, or social event, held at The Devonshire House. We have attempted to keep them as simple as possible. Please ensure that you read the terms and conditions and please do not hesitate to contact us if any point is unclear.

‘The Company’ means The Devonshire House.
‘The Hirer’ means the person, firm, company or public authority that hires the function suites and/or the hotel facilities.
‘The Hiring’ means the use of the hotel, its function suites and/or conference centre.

 

  1. Confirmation
    Provisional reservation will not be deemed confirmed until a non-refundable deposit of £500.00 has been received within 7 days of making your provisional reservation unless alternative arrangements have been agreed. The ‘Company’ reserves the right to release the right provisional reservations if a deposit has not been received. No reservation is confirmed until the deposit has been paid and ‘The Company’ has received a signed booking condition acknowledgement form from ‘The Hirer’.
  2.  Final Details
    Final guaranteed numbers and menu details are required no later than 21 days prior to the date of the function, for social occasions or 5 working days for conference and business functions.
  3.  Payment Details
    Payment in full is required no later than 28 days prior to the date of the function. Any additional items ordered at the function shall be charged to ‘The Hirer’ and shall be paid no later than 14 days from the date of invoice. A full list of Terms and Conditions payment details is available upon request. Any amendments can be made no later than 14 days prior to the function otherwise original charges will be charged with no refund available. Final balance payment can only be made by either Cash, Credit/Debit Card or Bank Transfer.
  4. Cancellation by ‘The Hirer’
    Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. In the event of cancellation by ‘The Hirer’ the following charges apply:
    Within
    6 Months – 10 Weeks before of date of arrival 50% of anticipated revenue
    10 Weeks – 3 Weeks before date of arrival 75% of anticipated revenue
    21 days or less before date of arrival 100% of anticipated revenue
    All cancellations must be confirmed in writing before being accepted.
  5. Cancellation by ‘The Company’
    – ‘The Company’ reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith and without any liability on its part on the event of any damage or destruction to any part or parts of the buildings known as The Devonshire House Hotel and associate buildings by fire or other causes, any requirement for the refitting of the suites or a total rebuilding of the premises in whole or in part ,any shortages of labour or food supplies, walkouts or industrial unrest, or any other causes beyond the control of ‘The Company’, which shall prevent it from performing its obligation in connection with any booking in which event any deposits paid will be refunded in full.
  6. Liability of ‘The Company’
    – ‘The Company’ can accept no responsibility for the property or cars of ‘The Hirer’, guests, or delegates, at the premises known as The Devonshire House Hotel. Cloakrooms are provided for the convenience of ‘The Hirer’ guests and delegates, but any goods deposited in the cloakrooms are deposited at the owner’s risk and without any obligation on the part of ‘The Company’.
    – Any damage to the building or its contents caused by ‘The Hirer’, guests or delegates, is the responsibility of ‘The Hirer’. ‘The Hirer’ shall agree to pay ‘The Company’ the full cost of any company property, which is stolen or damaged beyond repair. Where property is damaged yet repairable, ‘The Hirer’ will pay all costs incurred to rectify the damage.
    – Should ‘The Hirer’ wish to affix any posters or other materials to walls, floors or ceilings, permission must be obtained from ‘The Company’.
    – ‘The Company’ reserve the right to invoice ‘The Hirer’ for any costs due to replacing any items removed from the premises by ‘The Hirer’, guests or delegates without the hotel’s consent.
    – ‘The Company’ welcomes children of all ages, however Children must be supervised at all times. ‘The Company’ cannot accept liability for the supervision of any children.
  7. Client Responsibilities
    – ‘The Hirer’ is responsible for the conduct of their guests during an event. Should a guest act improper or in a disorderly manner, ‘The Company’ reserves the right to escort any persons from the premises. ‘The Company’s decision is final.
    – It is the responsibility of ‘The Hirer’, if holding a ceremony at ‘The Venue’, to book their registrar with the Liverpool Registry Office
  8. General
    – No food or drink other than that purchased on the premises shall be allowed. ‘The Hirer’ shall not store or place on the perimeters of the complex any inflammable, combustible, substance or liquid. If a contract includes the employing of the services of an outside contractor ‘The Hirer’ shall indemnify ‘The Company’ against any loss or damage to property, death, illness or injury to any person and against all claims, costs, demands proceeding and damages arising therefrom. – ‘The Company’ does not offer an option of corkage
    – ‘The Company’ reserve the right to close the bar & cease entertainment should ‘The Hirer’, guests or delegates be found supplying their own alcohol
    – ‘The Company’ reserves the right to alter or amend the booking to a different suite/conference room as best fits the numbers involved.
    – ‘The Company’ reserves the right to alter costs if market prices increase.
    – ‘The Company’ reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at its discretion.
    – Any items that have not been collected by ‘The Hirer’ 24 hours after the event has taken place will be disposed of.
    – Fireworks & Chinese Lanterns are not permitted at ‘The Venue’
    – Hotel Accommodation is closed until further notice
