Albert Dock
The Albert Dock is a major tourist attraction in the city and opened way back in 1846 by Prince Albert. Today, it is the most visited national heritage site outside of London, attracting around 4 million visitors per year. The docking complex and warehouses that make up the Albert Dock consist of the largest single collection of Grade I listed buildings within the UK and cover a staggering 1.25 million square feet.
Entry to the Albert Dock is free, as is the International slavery museum, Tate Liverpool and the Maritime Museum.
